HUSHED is the continuance to HUSH.

HUSHED eBook Sandra Raine

SPOILERS
These books are guilty pleasures, I get it. I get that one needs to amplify their suspension of disbelief in order to get into the stories. What I don't get is how short this book is, it's like they took an original ending to Hush and made it into a whole new book. And.....
SPOILERS FOLLOW
Part of the guilty pleasure of the first book is to see Jane get revenge on her captures. That doesn't happen so we assume this is what the sequel is about. That event is passed by so quickly in this chapter it leaves a huge sense of disappointment. One could argue that in reality the way it was written is how it would have happened, but why suddenly start incorporating anything that resembles reality into this story? I would have gladly accepted the pamphlet sized sequel if the couple dozen pages were specifically about revenge, instead we get torture 2.0 and only a couple of sentences dedicated to the real emotion of the first book.

HUSHED eBook Sandra Raine Reviews

So sad to read how these special babies were treated but heart warming how there are amazing people out there that can change these special kids outlook on life and love.
Second book was as intense as the first book. Said but true that there are so many sick people in the world that get off on abusing children. The ending to the book was very shocking.
I read hush and hushed back to back in 2 days.. although a hard book to read at times, i have to say they are both very very good reads.... there were some misused/ misspelled words that I had to stop and re read asking myself, where was the editor? The ending left me hoping there will be a 3rd book.
TERRIBLE grammar and spelling! Hard to focus on the book!
This book is less plausible that the first.

**** SPOILERS ****

In the first book, Jane was deterred from going to the police because of threats made by Dominic concerning her sister and parents.

This time around, she doesn't give a damn about her parents, and in an early situation when she has her sister with her alone, why doesn't she just go to the FBI? They could put her and her sister into a witness protection program, end of story so to speak. The author doesn't give any rationale why this is not an option.

Others have already commented on the author's grammar and spelling issues in both this book and the previous one, so I won't go there. In the front matter, it says "Edited by M.E.". If that's a joke meaning the author edited it themself, not funny. If M.E. is a real person, shame on them.

Devlin/Sandra, please please please get a real editor and some reviewers before publishing your next book.
It's unfortunate that there isn't an option for a 100 star review, this book deserves it! So many unexpected twrists and turns, right when you think you've got the story figured out you're taken in a different dirction. Keeps you engaged in wanting to know more. One of those books you'll say on yourself, "just one more chapter before bed", and next thing you know your alarm is going off for you to wake up the next morning and you're still reading (if you haven't finished the entire book by then).
A+++
Ok, there are many positive and negative reviews of both "Hush" an "Hushed." I can say I agree with some of the critical comments... such as at times the story is very confusing and I either had to re-read parts or simply make assumptions. Also, the story line jumps around a little in a non-coherent manner. That said, this story line is great! I find I have to limit my reading the books because I like to save my reading for while I'm on an elliptical (which I look forward to just to see what happens next to Jane!
What I especially liked about this story, however, really was in the first book, "Hush." I have read many books and am fairly knowledgeable on the topic, but never realized how easy it would be for an average girl to be sucked into the life. I think all teenage girls should read these books. Yes, they are disturbing and graphic, but the reality is girls today aren't as innocent as we'd like to believe. I think reading "Hush" could really open up some eyes and a lot of teenage girls may think twice about sneaking out to frat parties, etc.
